A closer look
Ballygally Castle was built in 1625 by James Shaw and his wife Isabella Brisbane, and faces Ballygally Bay on the Coast Road. The hotel keeps a one wedding per day policy, with the Irish Sea, the hills and the cliffs as the backdrop for photographs.
Ceremonies can be held in a private garden pavilion looking over the 17th century walled gardens, and receptions in the Kintyre Ballroom. Tower rooms sit inside the original castle building.
