A closer look

A place with character.

Newtown Castle is a round tower house of the kind you usually see as a ruin, restored and standing in the grounds of the Burren College of Art. It is a national heritage site, and the interior is small and atmospheric rather than grand.

The Burren around it is the draw, with Ballyvaughan and the coast minutes away. There is no accommodation on site and weekday dates are available.

Before you book

Worth asking.

  1. How many fit inside the tower for a ceremony?
  2. Where does the meal happen, and is the college space available?
  3. Is there step free access anywhere in the building?
