A closer look

A place with character.

Huntington is the Esmonde family home in the village of Clonegal. The grounds hold a 14th century Benedictine abbey with its stone altar and arches, and a yew walk planted around 500 years ago.

The castle is licensed for civil ceremonies, and the reception moves into the 17th century barn off the courtyard. Venue hire includes rooms for the bridal party, with B&B and self-catering apartments in the castle and gate lodge for anyone else who wants to stay.

Before you book

Worth asking.

  1. How many guests does the barn seat for dinner?
  2. Who caters, and can we bring our own caterer?
  3. Is the castle open to visitors on the day of a wedding?
